Janet Millstein is a mixed media photographer and printmaker whose work creates reimagined narratives in response to the world around her. She is inspired by the wonder and beauty of the natural world but the effects of human activity and behavior in this environment are ever-present in her mind; her use of rich, brightly saturated colors in her work belie themes of turmoil and danger. While these themes influence her work, Millstein celebrates the beauty and happenstance of our shared existence, leaving the viewer to interpret how her visual stories might play out. Her view is often through a rose-colored lens. Originally from the NYC area, with a B.F.A. in Illustration from Parsons/The New School, she now lives in Lake Placid. janetmillstein.com
Anastasia Osolin makes cut paper and digital collages using found imagery gathered from a wide variety of sources including astrophotography, vintage scientific & botanical illustrations, magazine advertisements and art history. The resulting collages are vibrant, fantastical windows into imaginary worlds, playfully exploring the intersections of nature, technology, myth and spirituality. Originally from the Washington DC area, Anastasia has a B.F.A. in Illustration from the School of Visual Arts in New York City. She lives in Saranac Lake, where she has been an exhibiting member of the Adirondack Artists Guild since 2016.
